Hotel staff work tirelessly behind the scenes to keep your stay comfortable. Keep small dollar bills handy for these customary gratuities:
1. Housekeeping / Maids
$3 to $5 per night. Tip daily rather than at check-out because different attendants clean your room on different days. Leave cash in an envelope marked "Housekeeping".
2. Bellhops / Porters
$2 to $3 per bag brought to your room ($5 minimum for multiple bags).
3. Valet Parking
$3 to $5 when the attendant retrieves your car and brings it to the front entrance.
4. Concierge
$5 to $10 for difficult restaurant reservations or theater ticket arrangements (simple directions do not require a tip).
