When working with JSON data, engineers constantly switch between two formats: Beautified (indented) and Minified (compact single-line).

When to Format (Beautify)

- During local development and API debugging.

- When writing configuration files (e.g. `tsconfig.json`, `package.json`).

- In documentation and technical pull requests so diffs are legible line by line.

When to Minify

- Production API responses transferred over HTTP.

- Storing JSON documents in high-scale relational databases or Redis caches.

- Webhook payloads where minimizing packet size reduces egress bandwidth costs.

Minification typically shaves 15% to 35% of the total raw byte weight by eliminating indentation spaces and line breaks.
